Edie Martin

Biography

Edie Martin was a British actress born on January 1, 1880, whose career spanned over six decades on stage and screen. Notable for her frequent appearances in Ealing comedies, she played the endearing "little old lady" in films such as "The Titfield Thunderbolt" (1953) and "The Lavender Hill Mob" (1951). Her ubiquity in British cinema belied by her often uncredited roles, Martin remains a nostalgic figure from Britain's cinematic past.
