Robert Laurence Barr Jr., born November 5, 1948, is a seasoned American politician and attorney. A former U.S. Representative from Georgia's 7th congressional district (1995-2003), he led the impeachment of President Bill Clinton and authored the Defense of Marriage Act. After leaving Congress, Barr served as the Libertarian Party's nominee in the 2008 presidential election and later became NRA president from 2024 to 2025, reflecting his enduring presence in American politics.
