Ed Bishop was a prolific American actor known for his roles as Commander Ed Straker in UFO and Captain Blue in Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. He also provided the voice of Philip Marlowe in BBC Radio adaptations of Raymond Chandler's novels. A veteran of Stanley Kubrick's films, including Lolita and 2001: A Space Odyssey, Bishop continued to act in British and European productions throughout his career.
