Anna Sten

Biography

Anna Sten was a Ukrainian-born American actress who began her career in stage plays and films in the Soviet Union before starring in several German films. Noted for her performances in "Soldier of Fortune" (1955), she was discovered by film producer Samuel Goldwyn, who brought her to the United States to create a new screen personality. Despite some initial success, Sten's contract was released after a few unsuccessful films, and she continued acting sporadically until 1962.
