She gained recognition for her roles in the Shake Rattle & Roll horror film series, earning her the nickname "Queen of Philippine Horror Movies." Cuntapay also won an award for Best Actress at the 2011 CinemaOne Originals Digital Film Festival for her leading role in Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay.
