Biography

A pioneering documentary filmmaker and advocate for the LGBTQ community, Rob Epstein has won two Academy Awards for Best Documentary Feature for his films The Times of Harvey Milk (1984) and Common Threads: Stories from the Quilt (1989). He has also directed numerous acclaimed documentaries, including Word Is Out: Stories of Some of Our Lives (1977) and Lovelace (2013), which premiered at Sundance.
