Daryl Jones

Biography

Daryl Jones, born December 11, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, began playing drums and xylophone at seven, influenced by his father's drumming and soul music. Inspired by a neighbor's bass performance, he switched to bass at nine and studied under local musician Angus Thomas. He gained experience on Chicago's music scene before joining Sting's band in 1985 and later auditioned for the Rolling Stones in 1993, replacing Bill Wyman as their touring bassist.
