Biography

Caroll Edwin Spinney was a renowned American puppeteer best known for bringing Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch to life on Sesame Street. Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, he developed a passion for puppeteering at a young age and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force after high school. After his military service, Spinney spent over four decades entertaining children and adults alike as one of Sesame Street's beloved characters.
