Richard John Chaves is an American character actor born on October 9, 1951, in Jacksonville, Florida. He began his career with various soap opera roles before landing a notable role as Poncho in the science fiction film Predator (1987). His performance as Lt. Colonel Ironhorse in the television series War of the Worlds further boosted his career, earning him a significant amount of fan mail.
