Biography

João Nicolau is a Portuguese filmmaker known for his imaginative and playful films that often focus on young people. Born in Lisbon in 1975, he began his career with the documentary "Calado Não Dá" (1999) before transitioning to feature films with "A Espada e a Rosa" (2010), which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. His work has been recognized with awards, including the Best Film prize at the Vila do Conde International Short Film Festival.
