Biography

Rachel Mwanza is a Congolese actress born in 1997 who rose to prominence after being cast in the 2012 film War Witch (Rebelle), for which she won the Silver Bear for Best Actress. Before her acting career, she spent years living on the streets of Kinshasa as a street child after her mother falsely accused her of witchcraft. Mwanza's experience informs her portrayal of Komona in War Witch. She has also appeared in the 2013 film Kinshasa Kids.
