Biography

Mara New, a multifaceted artist, was born in Milan, Italy, and later pursued her passion for fashion by launching the Golden Needle Awards to recognize emerging designers. She also explored various creative endeavors, including architecture, dance, and radio, before joining MTV in Toronto, where she became friends with Liberace's protégé Marco Valenti. A painter of note, Mara has won European competitions and met Pablo Picasso, while her husband co-produces CDs for jazz artists like Barbara Morrison.
