Richard Lane was a versatile American actor and television announcer who began his career in song-and-dance acts and circuses. He transitioned to motion pictures, playing memorable roles such as Inspector John or William Faraday in Boston Blackie Columbia Pictures features, and later became known for broadcasting wrestling and roller derby shows on KTLA-TV. Lane also entertained USO troops during World War II and appeared in notable films like "Kansas City Bomber" (1972) and "The Bullfighters" (1945).
