Penny Slinger is a British-born American artist and author based in California, born in 1947. Her work explores the nature of the self, the feminine, and the erotic through mediums like photography, film, and sculpture, falling under the genres of surrealism and feminist surrealism. She gained recognition with her notable early surrealist period works, including "The Other Side of Underneath" (1972).
