Yoshihiro Nishimura was a Japanese film director, special effects and makeup effects artist, and screenwriter who worked predominantly in the horror genre. His fascination with Salvador Dalí's artwork at a young age had a lasting impact on his career. Nishimura established a new type of visual film presentation, known as the 'gore effect', which earned him recognition as a legendary director and effects artist.
