Renan Öztürk is a German-born American rock climber, free soloist, and visual artist born on April 7, 1980. He gained recognition for his first ascent of the Shark's Fin route on Meru Peak in the Himalayas with Jimmy Chin and Conrad Anker in 2011. Öztürk also appeared in the documentary film "Meru" (2015). A biologist by education, he has traveled extensively throughout the US and abroad, exploring various climbing destinations.
