Rodney Slater

Biography

Rodney Desborough Slater was born on November 8, 1941, in Crowland, Lincolnshire. As a founder member of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, he brought his saxophone and other wind instrument skills to the group. The band's eclectic sound was formed through a Dadaist word game, combining elements of the popular cartoon character Bonzo with the early 20th-century art movement Dada. Slater's contributions helped shape the band's unique sound.
