Gary Morton was a Jewish American stand-up comedian born in New York City on December 19, 1924. He met Lucille Ball in 1960 and married her just months after she opened on Broadway in Wildcat; the couple wed at Marble Collegiate Church in 1961. Morton became closely involved in managing Ball's career from their marriage onward.
