Angelo D'Alessandro was an Italian screenwriter and film director born in 1926. He began his career as assistant director on Federico Fellini's Variety Lights (1950) before making a name for himself as writer of At the Edge of the City (1953) and I piaceri dello scapolo (1960). D'Alessandro then took on directing duties with Turi and the Paladins (1977), cementing his legacy in Italian cinema.
