Catherine Scorsese was an American actress of Italian descent, known for her frequent portrayal of an Italian mother. She is perhaps best remembered for her roles in her son Martin Scorsese's films Goodfellas and Mean Streets, as well as her appearances in It's Not Just You, Murray! and Casino. A published recipe book, Italianamerican: The Scorsese Family Cookbook, showcases her culinary heritage. She was the mother of filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
