Henry Tarvainen

Biography

Henry Tarvainen was a Canadian actor and theatre director born in the late 1940s. He made his mark on screen with a role in the 1965 film Winter Kept Us Warm and later turned to directing, earning a Dora Mavor Moore Award nomination for his production of Charles Tidler's Straight Ahead and Blind Dancers in 1982. Tarvainen also became the first resident director at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts in the early 1970s.
