Jonathan Rosenbaum

Biography

Jonathan Rosenbaum is an American film critic and author, born on February 27, 1943, in Florence, Alabama. Growing up in the Rosenbaum House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, he developed a lifelong interest in cinema and jazz, which informs his film criticism. As head film critic for The Chicago Reader (1987-2008), he has published and edited numerous books on cinema and contributed to notable film publications like Cahiers du cinéma and Film Comment.
