Biography

Dita Parlo was a German film actress born in 1908 in Stettin, Pomerania. She made her first film appearance in Homecoming (Heimkehr) in 1928 and quickly gained popularity in Germany, later achieving success in French films including L'Atalante (1934) and La Grande Illusion (1937). Despite attempting to transition to American cinema, Parlo struggled to replicate her European success. She was deported to Germany as an enemy alien during World War II.
