Raj Patel

Biography

Raj Patel is a Research Professor at the University of Texas, Austin, where he teaches and conducts research on food systems and policy. A seasoned activist and writer, he has testified to governments about the global food crisis and received a James Beard Foundation Leadership Award in 2016. He co-taught a notable edible education class with Michael Pollan at UC Berkeley and is a member of the International Panel of Experts on Sustainable Food Systems.
