George Benson

Biography

George Frederick Percy Benson was a British actor who shone on stage and screen from the 1930s to the early 1970s. A former pupil of Blundell's School, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art before landing notable roles with comedians George Formby and Ronnie Barker. His film debut came in 1932, and he gained success as a comic actor, most notably in holiday-themed films like "Holiday Lovers".
