Wayne Kramer

Biography

Wayne Kramer was a founding member of the Detroit rock band MC5 in 1963, alongside guitarist Fred "Sonic" Smith and vocalist Rob Tyner, among others. The group's powerful live performances and radical left-wing politics brought them to prominence in the 1960s, but they broke up amid personal and political turmoil. Kramer later battled drug addiction before returning to music in the 1990s. He was ranked #92 on Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of all Time".
