Biography

Kip Thorne is an American astrophysicist and author born on June 1, 1940, in Logan, Utah. He coauthored the influential textbook Gravitation with John A. Wheeler and Charles Misner in 1973, and wrote the award-winning science book Black Holes and Time Warps in 1994. Thorne was a scientific consultant for Christopher Nolan's films Interstellar and Tenet, and received the 2018 Lewis Thomas Prize for science writing.
