Harry Edwards

Biography

Harry Edwards is a renowned American sociologist and civil rights activist, father of the sociology of sport field, whose career has centered on African-American athletes. He completed his Ph.D. at Cornell University and is Professor Emeritus of Sociology at UC Berkeley. Edwards' work has been marked by notable advocacy for black participation in professional sports management and authorship of influential texts like "The Revolt of the Black Athlete".
