Howard K. Smith
Biography
Howard Kingsbury Smith was a distinguished American journalist and film actor born on May 12, 1914. He joined the Murrow Boys, a team of war correspondents led by Edward R. Murrow, in Berlin in January 1940, interviewing prominent Nazis and being one of the last American reporters to leave before Germany's entry into World War II. Smith went on to have a 40-year career at ABC News as co-anchor and analyst, from 1962 to 1979. He appeared in the film "The Pursuit of D.B. Cooper" (1981).
