Thomas John Brokaw is an American television journalist and author born on February 6, 1940. He anchored NBC Nightly News for 22 years (1982–2004), becoming the only person to host all three major NBC News programs: The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, and Meet the Press. A prolific author, Brokaw has written several books on American history and society, including "The Greatest Generation" (1998).
