His novel A Dog's Purpose spent 52 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and was adapted into a film, as well as a sequel, A Dog's Journey. Cameron's self-improvement book 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter was adapted into an ABC sitcom, and another book, 8 Simple Rules for Marrying My Daughter, had a pre-published movie deal.
