Biography

Davy Kaye was a British comedy actor and entertainer born David Kodeish on March 25, 1916, in London's East End to Jewish parents. He began his career as an amateur performer at school, making his professional debut in 1935, before entertaining troops during World War II through BBC radio and live performances. A star of stage and screen, Kaye is remembered for notable roles in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," "The Wrong Arm of the Law," and "Crooks in Cloisters."
