Gustavo Dahl was a Brazilian filmmaker, critic, and public manager of cinema who left an indelible mark on the country's cinematic landscape. Born in Buenos Aires in 1938 to Argentine and Brazilian parents, Dahl began his career at a young age, collaborating with prominent figures like Paulo Emílio Salles Gomes. He later honed his craft in Italy, where he became acquainted with key figures of the Cinema Novo movement, before returning to Brazil as a seasoned filmmaker.
