Eric "Big Daddy" Nord was a prominent figure in the Beat Generation, known for his towering stature and charismatic presence as the face of San Francisco and Los Angeles newspaper readers in the late 1950s. As the owner of the hungry i nightclub, he played a pivotal role in the city's vibrant cultural scene. A poet, actor, and writer, Nord was dubbed the "King of the Beatniks" by columnist Herb Caen.
