William F. Haddock

Biography

William Franklin "Silent Bill" Haddock (November 27, 1877 – June 30, 1969) was an early American film director of the silent era, known for directing over two dozen feature and short films between 1909 and 1919. His notable works include the 1911 historical epic "The Immortal Alamo," starring Francis Ford, and the 1913 romantic drama "Hearts and Crosses." Haddock's filmmaking career culminated with his final work, "The Carter Case" in 1919, before he left the industry to settle in New York City.
