Biography

Maximilian Schrems, born in 1987, is an Austrian activist and lawyer who sparked controversy with his term paper on Facebook's lack of awareness of European privacy law while studying abroad. His subsequent complaints against the company led to a high-profile case with the Irish Data Protection Commissioner, and he went on to become the founder of NOYB – European Center for Digital Rights.
