Biography

Akiji Kobayashi was a Japanese actor who began his career at Haiyuza Theatre Company in 1949 and made his film debut in 1952. He gained international recognition for his role as Captain Toshio Muramatsu in the 1966-1967 television series Ultraman, and appeared in numerous other notable roles, including Kon Ichikawa's films and popular detective series Seibu Keisatsu. His final film appearance was in Yatsuhaka-mura in 1996, just before his passing due to lung cancer.
