Russell Poole

Biography

Russell Wayne Poole was a Los Angeles Police Department detective who investigated the murder of Notorious B.I.G. and the killing of LAPD Officer Kevin Gaines, among other notable cases. He served as a detective trainee in 1984 and rose to prominence as a primary investigator on over 135 homicide cases. After retiring in 1999, Poole formed a private detective agency before his death in 2015 at age 58.
