Melanie Straub is a German actress born in Waiblingen in 1976. She pursued a career in physiotherapy before studying acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin from 2000 to 2004. Her notable roles include Effi Briest and Lady Macbeth at Schauspiel Magdeburg, and Blanche DuBois in *A Streetcar Named Desire* at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam, for which she received the Potsdam Theater Prize in 2015.
