Biography

Toshi Shioya was a Japanese actor and film director born on August 5, 1956, in Dotochō, Oita Prefecture. He gained recognition for his roles in "Mr. Baseball" (1992) and established the Actors' Clinic to nurture new talent, mentoring numerous actors including Saori Minami and Takuya Kimura. Shioya received the Osaka City Cultural Prize in 2014 posthumously and died on June 5, 2013, at age 56 due to acute aortic dissection.
