Biography

Kenji Sugawara was a prolific Japanese actor, debuting in the early 1950s and reaching peak productivity in the 1951-1961 period. He gained notoriety with his lead role in Bara no kōdōkan (1965), working extensively in film and television throughout Japan. After experiencing a rapid decline in the 1960s, Sugawara continued to work until his death in Tokyo in 1999. His career spanned over three decades.
