David Lama

Biography

David Lama was a renowned Austrian rock climber and alpinist born in 1990 to an Austrian mother and a Nepali father, a mountain guide from Nepal. He made his mark in the climbing world with notable victories in European Championships for both bouldering (2006) and lead climbing (2007). In 2018, Lama became the first to reach the summit of Lunag Ri in a solo expedition, earning him posthumous recognition with the Piolet d'Or award in 2019.
