Biography

Zdeněk Štěpánek was a Czech actor who made his mark in film and theater during a tumultuous time in history. A veteran of World War I and the Russian Civil War, he transitioned to acting, appearing in 65 films between 1922 and 1968, including a notable role as Captain Vladimír Abajev in "Voyage to the End of the Universe" (1963). He was also an accomplished front-man at Prague's National Theatre from 1934.
