Marcel Van Heerden

Biography

Marcel van Heerden is a South African actor and director born in Cape Town in 1952. He grew up in Stellenbosch, where his mother Marie van Heerden, a stage director and actress, instilled his passion for the arts. A graduate of the University of Stellenbosch Drama Department, he went on to collaborate with notable artists before establishing himself as one of Africa's leading actors in films such as Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and White Wedding.
