Caryl Phillips

Biography

Caryl Phillips is a Kittitian-British novelist, playwright, and essayist born on March 13, 1958, in St. Kitts. He graduated from Queen's College, Oxford University in 1979 and went on to become Professor of English at Yale University since 2005. His work often explores the experiences of people of African diaspora, earning him a reputation as a Black Atlantic writer.
