Colin Blakemore

Biography

Sir Colin Blakemore was a British neurobiologist and Professor of Neuroscience and Philosophy at the University of London, known for his work on vision and brain development. He was also a prominent communicator of science and a former Chief Executive of the British Medical Research Council (MRC). A long-running animal rights campaign made him a public figure, both celebrated for his scientific contributions and criticized for his perceived role in animal testing.
