Narziß Sokatscheff

Biography

Narziß Sokatscheff was a Bulgarian-born German actor who made his mark on stage in the 1940s and 1950s. After studying Germanistik and Theaterwissenschaften at the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Universität, he debuted as a theater scholar with his role in "Gefesselten Prometheus" by Aischylos. He later joined Gustaf Gründgens' Düsseldorfer Ensemble in 1948, where he performed alongside notable colleagues like Elisabeth Flickenschildt. His breakthrough role came in 1961's "Escape to Berlin".
