David Simon

Biography

David Judah Simon is an American author, journalist, screenwriter, and producer born on February 9, 1960. He is best known for creating the acclaimed HBO series The Wire (2002-2008) and its subsequent projects, including Treme and Show Me a Hero. Simon was selected as a MacArthur Fellow in 2010 and named a Utne Reader visionary in 2011, recognizing his influential work in television and journalism.
