Biography

David Garroway was an American television personality and radio host, best known for founding NBC's Today show in 1952, a role he held until 1961. Before Today, he anchored Garroway at Large and The Dave Garroway Show, and also hosted radio programs The Dave Garroway Show and Monitor. A native of Schenectady, New York, Garroway's easygoing style belied a lifelong battle with depression.
