Robert Newman is a veteran American television actor, best known for his iconic role as Joshua Lewis on the acclaimed soap opera Guiding Light, a part he played in three distinct stints from 1981 to 2009. His character Josh was initially introduced as a bad boy, but became a central figure alongside Reva Shayne's arrival in 1983. Newman also showcased his range in other notable roles, including Prescott Harrell on General Hospital and Kirk Cranston on Santa Barbara.
